Shiny things collected by an easily distracted marine biologist. There will likely be fish, critters, science, other people's art, fannish stuffs (mostly of a science fictiony or cartoonish nature), teapots, things that make me laugh, and occasionally, kids.

Everyone on my Tumblr dash, PLEASE watch this. Especially if you are a creative artist:
Adobe is going to scrap their hard copies (disks) for their software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Flash), and have you pay a subscription for the latest software called the Adobe Creative Cloud. $50 per month. Could you really afford such an expense in the long run?
This is really disturbing. Please hear what he has to say, it really is a serious situation for working artists. Pass this along so others may know about the Adobe Creative Cloud and how horrible it is.
Yep… Just went to see how much Flash costs. You know, to just buy the program? Guess what? After spending a while looking, it appears that you CAN’T anymore. You have to pay an outrageous subscription fee. I hate adobe. Is there a petition going around to stop this nonsense? Because I want to sign it.
I’m a hobbyist artist (well, I said that when signing the above - I’m not really an artist, I’m more of a doodler), drawing is my outlet and therapy, something I do for fun and relaxation. However, I have bills, rent, and three school age children. $50/month is prohibitive. If this the the future of Adobe, you can look forward to my no longer using your product. He says there are no alternatives, but I’m finding GIMP to quite useful. I’m not any where near a professional artist though. (via chuuface)
Oh dear. I just came across and downloaded Dropbox on my Nook this morning, otherwise I’d have no idea what this is referring to. Other than Schrodinger’s cat, that is. Does this mean maybe I shouldn’t use it? ;p
